Whilst not a household name, his passing ought to be noted. He has recorded and/or performed live with absolutely loafs of people including Peter Gabriel, Fish, Simple Minds, Phil Collins, Annie Lennox, Joan Armatrading etc.

Whilst I appreciate the mention of the passing of notable people, I have to say that posting of Mr Giblin's unfortunate demise has reached a new level of idiocy. But anyhow RIP John Giblin, I never knew you or heard of you but you might have been one of that rarest of breeds, a decent Scotsman
